Custom Finisher's Medal
A high-quality, commemorative April Fool's Run Finisher's Medal will be given to each individual and relay team (each team member receives a medal) completing the Half Marathon. The medal is oval, 2.5" wide in antique gold finish with a cut-out and full colour neck ribbon. Click images to enlarge.

For just $7.50 you can get a personalized insert for your medal with your name and official finishing time laser-engraved — fits neatly into a recessed area on the back! Comes with self-adhesive backing.
Order when registering or, if already registered, via our extras order page, or during late registration/packet pickup, and it will be mailed to you approximately 3 weeks after the race.
Order deadline is August 16th, 2020.
Overall Prizing
Top three overall males and females and first male and female 40+ masters in the individual half marathon (9:17am start) will each receive cash prizes. Double dipping is allowed (we figure, if a 40+ year old is in the overall top 3, they deserve extra credit!).
Overall prizes will be presented during the Awards Ceremony.

Top Local Finishers
The fastest local Sunshine Coast (Port Mellon to Egmont) male and female finishers in the individual half marathon will each win a pair of shoes from Brooks, in addition to having their names engraved on the George Matthews Memorial Trophy. Mr. Matthews was the co-founder of the April Fool's Run. In 2017 we updated the memorial trophy to match the style of the original 'Coast News Challenge Cup' (see History pages for photos; in 1987 it was given permanently to 3-peat winner Glen Chilton).
Second and third local male and female will receive accessories from Brooks.
Age Category, Relay & Group Challenge Awards
Age Category, Relay & Group Challenge awards, as well as draw prizes, will be available for pick-up at the Awards Tent beside the stage — no waiting around for the awards ceremony.
Half Marathon Age Category Awards
The top 3 males and females in each age division will each receive a medal with a custom insert design.
- Individual half marathon, Male and Female: 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+
Relay Awards
All members of the winning teams as outlined below will receive prizes from our sponsors:
- 2-person Relay: top 3 in each category (Men/Mixed, Women)

Best Costume Contest
Win a prize for best costume!
It's the April Fool's Run after all, so don't be shy, wear your silliest costume! In past years we've had the Knights of Crampalot, Minnie Mouse, a Gingerbread Man, Darth Vader, Canadian Beavers, ballerinas, and of course jesters. Winner will be determined by applause on stage near the finish line at 11:45am, so plan to be there! Prize will be gift cards from Running Room and PaceSetter Athletic, so you can get yourself some normal running apparel.
“The April Fool's Half was my first ever half and I don't think I'll ever forget it… I finished with a time of 1h 38m (still my PB!) and the second Katie met me when I crossed the line, all I could get out repeatedly was “Where… Where… Where's Darth Vader… Where's….”
Katie looked at me confused for a moment and then said, “Oh, he finished like 10 minutes ago!”

Draw Prizes
We will be giving away some great draw prizes! All run or walk participants and volunteers signed up prior to race day are eligible to win. So pre-register by Saturday April 4 to get in the draw!
Draw prizes will be available for pickup at the awards tent by the finish line. Be sure to check if your name is on the winners' list, or listen closely to the announcements! Show your bib number or ID to claim your prize.
Volunteer prizes will be awarded at the Training Party which takes place March 31st, by invitation.
Charitable Donor Draw
Anyone who donates online to the Food Bank by Friday of race weekend will have their name entered in a special draw for donors only. Winner will be announced/posted on race day.
